The 86 golfers who participated in our 1st Annual JBC Golf Classic for Kids Without Cancer, held on Saturday, September 14, 2013, experienced absolutely gorgeous fall weather as they drove, chipped and putted their way to low scores! Though many teams turned in exceptional scores, C-Mac Transportation came in with the lowest score: 18 under par. Before, during and after the round, a putting contest was underway on the practice green. Three golfers sunk a 30-foot putt to qualify for a putt-off after dinner. We congratulate JB Cutting employee Robert Skeltis on sinking the final putt to win $100, which he promptly donated back to Kids Without Cancer!! Thank you Robert!
Kids Without Cancer (formerly “Leukemia, Research, Life”), supports the cutting-edge research being done at Children’s Hospital of Michigan and its affiliates, Wayne State University and the Karmanos Cancer Institute. This organization was started in 1981 by a group of parents who had one thing in common: their children had cancer. Unfortunately, at the time, only 50% of those children diagnosed would survive. So, these parents banded together and vowed to raise money for cutting-edge research that would find a cure for pediatric cancer. We are pleased to report we raised over $7,000 for this worthy cause! On behalf of the children who will be touched by this incredible support, THANK YOU!
