JB Cutting is opening its doors for Manufacturing Day, October 3, 2014. We will be hosting a series of plant tours that Friday. Manufacturing Day has been designed to expand knowledge about and improve general public perception of manufacturing careers and manufacturing’s value to the North American economy. In addition, JBC will learn about business improvement resources and services delivered through manufacturing extension partnerships. We’d like to change the perception of modern day manufacturing and encourage young people to consider a career in manufacturing. The plan is to provide opportunities to 1,200 Macomb County high school students to see today’s manufacturing environment in action. Students will learn about the types of jobs available in manufacturing, meet the actual machine operators, learn about their passion for the jobs as well as find out about the educational pathways that lead to a good job in manufacturing.
